Wish I made that up… It’s something Tony Robbins said.

Cliché but true. Imagine how many journeys are non-existent because they are never started.

All the things we do not do because we’re afraid of what other people think.

Walking is all the rage nowadays so yes, today I walked around the Vondelpark.

With a friend who told me the following story about his wife.

She recently quit the job that made her miserable and started doing things she loves. She is now teaching language classes to children, building her personal brand, and selling female accessories because beauty is her passion.

Coming from a family that values getting a degree followed by a respected job, you can imagine the leap.

Thing is, people will criticize you anyways. Any path you follow, you are going to face obstacles and a lot of those will be other human beings.

It’s in our nature to dislike change.

Dogs bark at what they cannot understand.

His story made me think of the bus analogy. It says there are three types of people.

The first type of people are those who drive the bus. They take control, grab the wheel and get it pointed in the right direction.

The second type is the passenger on the bus. Riding along, enjoying the scenery, content with wherever they are going.

And the third type of people are those under the bus. Who never think about where they want to go. Zero direction.

One of the secrets to happiness is a sense of control, being able to direct our own lives.

Do something today to take the wheel of your own bus. Make a plan, read a book, talk to someone, reflect.

If the bus you are on is not heading in the right direction, consider changing buses. Or at least have a word with the driver about changing routes.

Life is simple, but we insist on making it complicated.
